In the wake of a water main break that temporarily shut the beloved Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar down for repairs, one thing became clear. We needed wine- and lots of it!
The almost 30 year old restaurant decided to take the opportunity to revamp and revitalize the wines by the bottle program. Scouring such regions as Italy and France, the restaurant found small and unique vineyards with hand harvested wines that were not only delicious but also priced in a way that its customers would not think twice about ordering. It's all part of a master plan to offer the very best wine for the very best price.
There are some notable wines that just cannot be overlooked. Bloomer Creek, a Finger Lakes vineyard, stands out on the list with a Cabernet Franc- one of the best Cab Francs that we tasted. Kim and his wife Debra bought a farmhouse and planted grapes in a field that once grew raspberries. Another wine we cannot wait to share with our customers is Cleebourg Pinot Gris from Alsace, France. At a steal for only $34.00 a bottle, this wine will blow what you think is Pinot Grigio out of the water. Apple, pear and honeysuckle offset with a creamy limestone finish.
With most of the list at an extremely affordable price, (most under $50.00!!!) there is something for anyone. Barbera, Borolo, Ripasso, Bordeaux, Chianti, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chablis, Pecorino.... and the list goes on.
It was an arduous task to taste wine for five months, but for you? Worth it.
Pictured above: We tasted wines from around the globe from fantastic suppliers such as Justin Scappaticci from Artisans Cellar, Cosmo Mullen from Winebow, Jay Vaughan from Breakthru Bev, Frank Taormina from Majestic Wines and many many more.
